Rekan-rekan Migas yang saya hormati,

Saya ingin melakukan penelitian tentang aplikasi injeksi biocide dalam mengendalikan bakteri pereduksi sulfat. Apakah ada rekan-rekan yang punya pengalaman menentukan jenis biocide dan konsentrasi injeksinya dalam skala laboratorium sebelum diaplikasikan ke lapangan? Hal-hal apa saja yang perlu diperhatikan agar mendapatkan hasil yang akurat?

Utk infomasi kebetulan sebelumnya saya punya pengalaman dgn biocide.

Biocide umunya terdiri dari dua general method :

1. Biostatic (suppress bacteria from growth / by attacking ability to reduplication/keep the number of bacteria)

2. Biocide (killing bacteria)

The difference between them is that :

1. Biostatic = usually high amount dosage (in ppm) against holding water and dose more frequent

(e.g = 50 ppm x 12 times/day)

2. Biocide = usually low concentration (in ppm) against holding water and dose few frequent

(e.g = 30 ppm x 12 times/day)

Both type can be selected depend on purpose, because on commercial term sometime just use biostatic would be enough (keep bacteria under 1.0 E+05, above that the bacteria would be proliferate)

As SRB (Sulfur Reduction Bacteria), usually organo-halogen biocide would be enough but need more cost. For cheap one, we can use sodium-hypochlorite (NaOCl) but problem appears with its ‘bleaching agent’ characteristic.

Anyway, as long as, we could do some table test (take sample with fix amount and dose with variable biocide and quantity then check by microscope and petrifilm), we could determine which biocide suitable to control this SRB.

Sample volume : 500 ml

Dosing injection : 30 ppm, 50 ppm , 100 ppm etc

Jgn lupa bahwa untuk menginjeksi biocide (chemical liquid) biasanya di industri menggunakan dosing pump yg membutuhkan waktu dosing, sehingga injection system menjadi = 30 ppm x 15 menit x 3 times/day.
Sehingga dibutuhkan grafik konsentrasi vs waktu dosing baru kita dapatkan actual concentration dari biocide tersebut ( utk skala aplikasi industri).
