Kuwait to invest $1.3bn in power generation
Kuwait plans to install .3bn worth of power-generation equipment in a bid to raise output by 7.9% as energy demand soars, reported Bloomberg. The country is building four new gas and steam turbines, one generator and three distillers at the Shuaiba North power station, said Mohammed Boshehri, a planning director at the Ministry of Electricity and Water. Iraq to sign $1.2bn deal with China
Iraq will sign a .2bn oil service contract with China to replace a production-sharing deal agreed under Saddam Hussein, Iraqi oil minister Hussain al-Shahristani told Iraq's an-Noor newspaper. The oil minister is travelling to China at the end of this month to discuss the deal, which was orginally signed in 1997 between Iraq and the China National Petrolium Company. Crude oil fell for a fourth day in New York yesterday amidst forecasts that Tropical Storm Fay will miss rigs and platforms in the Gulf of Mexico, and as the stronger dollar limited the appeal of commodities, reported Bloomberg. Qatar to cut gas emissions
