A scrubber – is a type of separator which has been designed to handle flow streams with unusually high gas-to-liquid ratios. These are commonly used in conjunction with dehydrators, extraction plants, instruments, or compressors for protection from entrained liquids, sedangkan a Knockout- is a type of separator which falss into one of two categories: free water and total liquid
knockouts.

Apa bedanya flash gas scrubber dan suction drum/KOD ( knock out drum ) …….?

Syarat untuk crude oil kan RVP ( Reid vopour pressure ) harus lebih rendah dari tekanan atmosfer, kalo lebih dari tekanan atmosfer maka minyak bisa mendidih, mengapa?

Kalau lihat barangnya sih mirip-mirip, kadang istilah ini interchangeable. Tapi kalau menurut API 12J.

Sedangkan

– A Knockout- is a type of separator which falss into one of two categories: free water and total liquid knockouts.

a. The free water knockout is a vessel used to separate free water from a flow stream of gas, oil, and water. The gas and oil usually leave the vessel through the same outlet to be processed by other equipment. The water is removed for disposal.

b. The total liquid knockout is normally used to remove the combined liquids from a gas stream.

Nah kalau ada istilah compressor KO drum, atau Flare KO drum itu gimana? Ya mungkin maksudnya KO drum yang artinya sama dengan scrubber.

Kalau RVP lebih besar dari atmosfer maka ketika liquid itu turun tekanannya menjadi atmosferis maka sebagian (atau semua) liquid akan berubah jadi fasa gas alias bubling alias mendidih. Hati-hati lho, mendidih tidak identik dengan temperatur yang panas.
